Today was our first day of school! Some of us went to Conval High by the school bus and the others went by car with their hosts. At 7:30 am we had to go to the LHT (theater), where we met our teachers and signed up for the field trips, which we are going to do in the next weeks. There are a lot of options, such as a tour to Maine, horseback riding or pumpkin carving. This one we are all doing together, so it will be a lot of fun. After the little meet up at the theater we all went to our first class in the high school. It was very exciting! The teachers were all very friendly and welcomed us warmly. In German class many of us sing a lot of very cool songs and we are rehearsing a little dance to each song. On Friday the German 4 class is going to go to the retirement home called “RiverMead” and we will perform those dances and give a little presentation about the Oktoberfest.
After school ended some students stayed at the school to watch the soccer team practice. It rained heavily, but they seemed to not notice the rain at all! Luckily we could sit under the grandstand, so that we would not get wet!
For all of us it was a perfect and very interesting first day of school!
