Before we left Peterborough, NH, I got to spend some time with people that I hadn’t seen for 8 years.
My host mom drove us down to Keene where we were meeting Paula and Tom Murphy (family friends). We got there shortly before 12 o’ clock and decided to walk through a nearby farmer’s market. It was pretty cool but I was far too excited to actually buy anything.
We got to the restaurant called “Fritz” where we waited for about 10 minutes and then decided to call and ask if my friends needed help finding their way to the restaurant… they did :)) (Turns out they were wandering around Keene University)
So, my host mom, Amy and I started walking towards the campus in hopes of running into them… finally, I saw them on the other side of the street and immediately ran towards them and gave both of them (Paula and Tom) a big hug.
We all walked to the restaurant and ate delicious french fries and panini.
Also, as a gift I got them some cookies and a 3D-printed walrus. Why a walrus? Because when Paula and Tom lived in Bowling Green, Ohio, they had a huge walrus on their porch! It was always a big hit on Halloween!
My host mom had some shopping to do so I walked around Keene with Paula and Tom. We took lots of pictures, went to a Café and of course, bought presents and LOTS OF CANDY.
After getting coffee and hot chocolate, we all met back up at the gazebo. We took some more pictures and just talked until we had to say goodbye.
I’m really grateful that I got to see them and just spend time with them. It was a really special day for me and this trip made it possible.
