Day in NewYork City

After our first night in our hotel, we met in front of the hotel at 8:30. After a few delays, we made our way to China Town. Once we arrived, we had an hour to explore the area. Everywhere there were lanterns lit in the streets and small street stalls where you could buy everything from fruit to fish.

After we met up again we went to the 9/11 Memorial Museum. After a little difficulty getting in, we unfortunately only had 1 hour to visit the museum. It was horrible but very interesting at the same time. The museum is very well designed. What I found most interesting was a small room in which various audio recordings were played in which different people told their experience and their view of the event. It was there that I really became aware of the extent of this tragedy.

Then we made our way to the Museum of Modern Art. After a short lunch break, we were admitted directly to the museum. We had 2 hours to familiarise ourselves with the art on display. There we saw some very famous works by Picasso, van Gogh, Monet... .

From there we took a short walk to Central Park and the Strawberryfields (memorial for John Lennon) and had a look at everything there.

Then we took the subway to Times Square, where we had another 1.5 hours of free time to see everything. It was unbelievable how many lights and people there were. You certainly won't get bored there because there's always something happening.

Afterwards, we went to the Grand Central Station and ended the evening there. Then, completely tired, we took the Subway back to the hotel and went straight to sleep after 13 hours.
